About Berryland-farm

Berryland Farms is a family-owned and operated hobby farm. Purchased in 2003 by Rick and Nancy Merkel as a home for a lone Arab gelding named Casper, the farm has grown and flourished into the family-friendly endeavor it is today. Come visit us and enjoy Berryland Farm as much as we do.

From June until December, there are a wide variety of “picking” crops available. Beginning in June-July, blueberries, raspberries, and other fruits such as cherries and plums are ripe and ready to go. Then the farm transitions into apple season; depending on which variety you are interested in, picking begins in late August and runs until the heavy snow arrives.

The Berryland Family

When you visit us, here are a few suggestions /guidelines:

- When you enter, drive slowly, there are always kids and animals around.

- There are always fruits available for sale in our store.

- As we have several small grandchildren, kids are always welcome, provided they have the correct amount of supervision. We are not liable for injury and reserve the ability to “guide” any way-ward or misbehaving children…much like our own grandkids.

- Bathroom facilities are limited and can be quite a distance from the activity.

- Taste-Testing is encouraged…how will you know how many wonderful fruits to pick?

- You are welcome to bring your own picking containers; otherwise we will provide them for you. In an effort to insure we always have enough containers, your berries will go home in a bag or box.

- If your container is bigger than you thought and you pick more than you want don’t worry, we will keep any excess product and sell it in our store.

- Although there are horses on the property, they are not for riding by the general public and visitors must stay out of their pastures. We are not responsible for any injuries that may occur regarding the horses. They do, however, love attention and food.

-Tours and groups are welcomed and encouraged.

-Please call ahead to ensure the experience is exactly what you want it to be. Many a senior citizen or school group has had the Berryland Farm experience and we have many satisfied customers. Although we will work to meet your needs, and take into account the time of year, your visit may include any of the following:

  • a wagon ride

  • tour of the barn

  • apple/fruit picking

  • pumpkin picking

  • sampling of picked product

Come for a family outing and enjoy the farm, and the picking.  Show your kids where apples and other fruit really come from. Not just from  bags at the grocery store. Come and have a "berry nice time"
